Art Competition
Can I print a picture of mine or do I have to draw it there?
The competition will be based on artwork that you have drawn prior to the convention. There is nothing wrong with entering a piece you just drew at the convention, but the option is open to show off your best and latest.
What's allowed?
Generally any picture is allowed but due to the audience of the convention, pictures of an adult nature, pictures showing nudity or any non-tasteful images will not be allowed. Common sense is advised as you are showing off your work. Size limits are A4 maximum and it would be advised to use a print or a copy of your work in case of loss or damage due to the audience. If you really need your picture back, it will be stored in Dragonslayers and can only be collected by bringing your con-badge to a Dragonslayers meeting after Q-Con.
Is there a theme?
The competition does not have a theme. Anything will be accepted within the rules set out above.
How do I register or sign up for this?
Registration for Q-Con's Art Competition will be carried out during the convention. You can leave artwork with the Snack Bar (second floor games hall) game registration desk, or with Tsukiko-chan, over the weekend prior to Sunday. Registration will close at 1pm on Sunday when the pieces will be judged by professional graphic artist Glenn Fabry.
The top 3 will be announced during the closing ceremony and prizes will be given for the pieces. You may collect your artwork from Dragonslayers (Tuesday Evenings, Queen's Students' Union) after Q-Con XV.
Please read the Art Competition Rules before signing up. If you have any questions, please contact us via email at info@q-con.org.uk.
