Charity
A number of the special events running at Q-Con XV will be raising money for our chosen charity. This year we have chosen to help young Naomi, the grand-daughter of Marc Farrimond, one of Q-Con’s most popular guests over the last few years.
This is Naomi. Isn't she cute? Unfortunately she has Cystic Fibrosis, a genetic disorder that affects her internal organs, especially her lungs, and reduces her life expectancy. At the moment she is 2 ½ years old and takes 14 tablets, 22ml liquid medicines and 2 hours of physiotherapy every day and has a nebulizer with 2 inhalers.
She has already survived a bout of meningitis, but every cold is life-threatening.
If Naomi had the benefit of using a compression vest then her quality of life could be improved allowing her to live a much happier and normal life, which to the family is priceless.
The Compression Vest is not available in the United Kingdom but can be ordered from America. The cost of this is over £12,000. We will be organising many charity events and doing as much as we possibly can to raise this money and the website will help to keep people up to date with what is happening. We are aiming to raise around £20,000 for the Compression Vest and the upkeep of the Vest along with donating any extra money we earn to Cystic Fibrosis Trust.
If you can support Naomi's fight then please contact us through the website or Naomi's MySpace and let us know your plans.
