Volunteering at Q-Con

XXIII Volunteers

Q-Con is fast approaching, that means we’re looking for volunteers who can help to not only make it happen, but make it stay awesome. Last year over 7700 attendees spent their weekend playing games and making friends, all thanks to the work of Q-Con's enthusiastic volunteers!

Q-Con is the biggest student-run event on campus, and we’re looking for more students to get involved and donate their time to assist with running all of the hundreds of individual events, as well as helping in areas such as Registration, Operations, Logistics and Technical Set-up.

You don’t have to be a gamer or have any prior experience of volunteering – we provide full training for all volunteers to ensure that everybody knows what they’re doing, and is comfortable doing it.

What will you get out of it? How about...

  • The satisfaction of helping to run the biggest convention of its kind in the UK or Ireland
  • Transferrable training and skills that enhance your CV
  • Exclusive volunteer t-shirts and badges
  • Discounted rates for convention accommodation, if you’re travelling from afar
  • The chance to hang out with some really cool people (the rest of the Q-Con crew!)
  • Lunch, dinner and refreshments all weekend, including an invitation to the post-con dinner

If you'd like find out more, or are interested in signing up, please email volunteer@q-con.org.uk for an information pack.

Volunteers are expected to be fully available from Friday 16th-Sunday 18th June and must also attend a full day of training on either June 3rd or 4th. Please note that all volunteers must be over 18 years of age.
