Warhammer 40K has been a staple of Q-Con's tournament scene and as such we are returning this year again with our Warhammer 40k Tournament!

Across Saturday 20th June, fight it out through three rounds against your mortal enemies in this 40-player tournament.
Gather your forces, paint to battle-ready standards and train up 1,500 points of your chosen faction for this WTC-Style competitive event.

Interested in trying out wargaming? Or maybe just intrigued by grimdark paint schemes? How about learning where to get and make some fantastic models? Come along to our Warhammer 40k Learn To Play events at Q-Con 2026!
Open for all attendees, these events aim to help grow the miniature wargaming scene by allowing people the chance to dip their toes into the world of Warhammer 40,000 on an easy to learn level.
Introduction to the hobby lectures - PFC 02.026
On Saturday 20th June, join us in the Peter Froggatt Centre, room 02.026, for our hosted talks on everything Wargaming.
We’re collaborating with Team NI, presenting three lectures at 11:00, 12:00 and 13:00, which will be on how the hobby works, where to play wargames across Ireland and an introduction on how to play our favourite one, Warhammer 40k!
Come along to as many as you like, whether you’re an experienced player or have only heard of Warhammer, there’s almost too much information here.

Practical Learn-To-Play events - PFC 02.009
Across Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st June, in room 02.009 of the Peter Froggatt Centre, we’re hosting Learn To Play sessions for anyone interested in dropping in and giving Warhammer 40k a try. We’re teaching for people ranging from completely new to those experienced and interested in competitive play.
Drop by on the day to get the fully taught, entry-level Warhammer experience. For new players or veteran hobbyists alike, come on down and test your mettle for some fun introductions to the miniature battle scene!

About Miniature Painting Competition
Q-Con 2026 is looking for all talented hobbyists out there! Once again, our event will see the return of the painted miniature competition for those most awe-inspiring, and time-consuming of Wargaming models!
Submit your Wargaming miniatures from all aspects during the first day of the convention Saturday 20th June at the Canada Room and Council Chambers (Lanyon Building) for a chance to win our popular choice or judges' choice awards!
Let the experts decide
Judging will take place across Sunday 21st June with the announcement of the winners for both of our categories at 4pm that day.
Our judges will be looking for inspiration on brush styles, use of colour palettes and realism to the character, and paying close attention to the finer details involved.
So get painting and make sure that you have fun showcasing the very best of your esteemed model artworks. And we wish everyone the best of luck at our Q-Con 2026 Miniature Painting Competition!

About Warhammer 40k Apocalypse Event
Adeptus Mechanicus Archivists and Imperial Engineers scramble to recover assets and solidify the final stronghold before the order to abandon the planet comes through.
An uneasy alliance within the ranks of Chaos and Xenos forces brings forth a final struggle for rule, the Siege of Ironheart Forge has begun.
Join us at Q-Con 2026 on Sunday 21st of June for this Warhammer 40k Apocalypse Narrative event in the Peter Froggatt Centre on the 2nd floor.
With custom rules, 5,000 points a side, and up to 18 players, the factions of Chaos, Imperium and Xenos will duke it out for control of Ironheart Forge!
Event Info
Players will muster forces of at least 1,000 points each (dependent on player numbers) to bring about victory together with their team.
Battle it out until one side holds absolute glory with your chosen faction and make sure to have fun.
